The Mobile telephone network, MTN is now exploring other electronic online payment platforms such as Opay, Flutterwave, Jumia pay, Kuda,Carbon and Billsnpay.

This happened shortly after the disconnection of MTN customers by commercial Banks; online bank recharge no longer possible.

A source said that MTN has no hand in the recent disconnections, stating that the decision was carried out by banks, who had refused to give any formal communication prior to the disconnection.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that millions of telecommunications subscribers were stranded on Friday as commercial banks disconnected MTN customers from banking channels including the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data and banking apps USSD

The statement issued by MTN, its Senior Manager, External Relations, Funso Aina, also said that customers could recharge airtime by dialing *904# and *606#.

Due to inconveniences, MTN now provides alternative platforms to ensure continued transaction for her customers.
