2023: Borno State Governor, Revealed That Nigeria’s Next President Should Come From the South
Governor Babagana Zulum has noted that the forth coming president of Nigeria should come from the south.
He opposed to the decision of the Southern Governors which says that President Muhammedu Buhari’s beneficiary must come from the South.
This comes after 17 governors, under the umbrella of Southern Governors’ Forum, on Monday met privately in Lagos, where they discussed issues concerning the region.
A communiqué read by the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, shortly after the meeting, said the meeting is committed to politics of fairness and equity.
Opposing to the resolution, Governor Zulum who spoke on Wednesday in an interview , disclosed that his stance was not tied to any political ambition.
Zulum revealed that he has no interest of becoming the vice president of the country.
He said, I have said it times without number that I, Professor Babagana Zulum, I am of the view that the presidency should go to the south in the year 2023 because the unity of our country is very important.
And I have said it before, I am not interested in becoming the vice president of the country, nor the president of the nation but I want to say the right thing.
