Boko Haram Attacked Yobe Council Headquarters

Babangida, the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government Area in Yobe State on Sunday came under Boko Haram attack.

It is revealed that the security forces including troops of Operation Hadin Kai engaged the terrorists in a shootout.

Babangida is 50km northeast of Damaturu, the state capital.

It was learnt that the Army mobilised heavy reinforcement against the attackers.

A security source said troops engaged the terrorists on the outskirts of the town but a resident confirmed that most of the town dwellers had fled, seeking refuge elsewhere.

Police spokesman Dungus Abdulkareem confirmed the attack, but asid,

I am still awaiting details of the incident from our men at Babangida. I don’t have any details at the moment.
