English Midfielder, Mason Mount Scored the only goal of the game to earn Chelsea maximum points in their premier league game against Fulham, The win also eased the pressure on Frank Lampard who has come under increased pressure in recent weeks, the blues had failed to produce a win in their three previous premier league games before this encounter.
Chelsea’s Boss, Frank Lampard opted for an attacking trio of Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic, and Moroccan playmaker, Hakim Ziyech. The blues dominated for the majority of the first-half but they failed to break the cottagers down. Fulham came close to taking the lead in the first-half but Cavaleiro miscued an effort over the bar with just Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy to beat from 10 yards.
Fulham’s left-back, Antonee Robinson was dismissed by the Referee, Peter Bankes for a reckless challenge on Chelsea’s Skipper, Cesar Azpilicueta in the 44th Minute, despite the numerical advantage, Frank Lampard’s lads found it hard to break a resolute Fulham’s defence that has conceded just three goals in their last three games. Lampard brought on Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner late in the second half as Chelsea kept knocking on the door. Despite being pegged back by Fulham for the majority of the Second-half, the blues finally got a breakthrough as Mason Mount gave Chelsea the lead in the 78th minute, Ben Chilwell left-footed cross was only punched by Areola onto the path of Mason mount who drilled a volley low past the Frenchman to give the blues the lead. Frank Lampard lads held onto the lead and earned their eighth win of the season.
