Osun State Governor Signs MoU For Bio-Refinery In The state

Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a firm, VirtueplusTwo Integrated Nigeria Ltd, for the establishment of a bio-refinery.

In a statement yesterday by the Ministry of Information, signed by Mr. Moshood Suleiman, the governor said the refinery would be situated on 20 acres at Ayekale in Boripe Local Government.

He said:

My government has carefully studied the MoU bordering on the integrity and competence of the firm that will put in place such a multi-million Naira project in Osun.

The Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Sola Oladepo, who signed the pact on behalf of Governor Oyetola, said the project was aimed at further industrialising the state.

He said:

We are committed to putting the economy of the state and its people on a sound footing, notwithstanding the harsh economic realities in the country.

A moratorium period of two years has been given to a firm, VirtueplusTwo Integrated Nigeria Ltd, to build a bio-refinery. This is in pursuance of Governor Oyetola’s commitment to the development of human and material resources for a bigger and greater Osun.

For instance, by the time a bio-refinery of this magnitude becomes functional at Ayekale, it will create 5,000 direct and 10,000 indirect employment opportunities for the people.

He implored the firm to live up to the expectations of the government and people of the state.

The Chairman/Managing Director of the company, Dr. Segun Iroko, appreciated the government and people of Osun State.
