HOUSE Of Representatives Investigate Health Facilities In Abuja

HOUSE of Representatives has launched a probe into alleged irregularities in public health institutions in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Its Committee on Federal Capital Territory was mandated to carry out the assignment and report back in two weeks.

The resolution followed the adoption of a motion on “The Need to Investigate Operational Activities of Public Health Institutions in FCT,” by Mohammed Auwal Jatau.

The House was concerned that management of the public health institutions engage in sharp practices, coveting to personal use official items.

It said the patients were compelled to donate blood for transfusion and pay heavily for laboratory tests, regardless of whether the blood was used for the purpose.

The House said it decided to address the irregularities to restore public confidence in the government.
