Two Murdered By Gunmen In Zango-Kataf Village Of Kaduna State

Gunmen have again attacked Zangon-Kataf council of Kaduna State, killing two persons, security sources said yesterday.

The two were killed in Ungwan Taila, one of them a woman.

Troops also found two bodies in Kacecere village in the same council, it was said.

Kacecere in Zangon-Kataf, and Madamai in Kaura council were attacked last week.

With the latest attack, 50 persons have been killed in both communities since last week’s invasions.

Quoting security agencies yesterday in a statement, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan said,

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have reported an attack by unidentified persons at Ungwan Taila village, Zangon Kataf LGA, in which two residents were killed. The troops arrived at the location to find that the assailants had killed two residents, Helen Lucky and Hananiah Elijah.

Receiving the report, Governor Nasir el-Rufai expressed deep regret at further loss of life from such attacks in the area. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to their families, Aruwan said.
