Northwest governors have ordered bandits and anyone hiding in forests to back off or face the violence of security forces.
This decision was announced by Katsina’s state Governor, Aminu Bello Masari.
According to him, it was taken as a renewed drive to wipe away fraudulent elements and hoodlums who launch sporadic attacks from those forests, using it as a refuge.
This was aired during a special Hausa programme on Liberty TV.
Whoever remains in the forest would be regarded as a bandit. Therefore, the security forces will deal with them ruthlessly.
However, he added that, Governors would pardon bandits who surrenders their arms.
Thenation also reported that, defence Headquarters yesterday said full military assault would be deployed against bandits in the North as ordered by Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari.
